Arrival and Departure

As a matter of safety each child must be taken to a staff member when they are arrive at the centre.

Sign your child in upon arrival and out on departure. These records are important in the event of an emergency evacuation.

If you wish to claim Childcare Assistance you MUST sign IN and OUT. If your child was absent these sheets must also be signed to ensure that your fee relief is paid.

STAFF WILL:

Evaluate daily routines and environments that best suit the needs of each individual child and attempt to foresee problems

Medication

If possible give medication at home. However, if this is not possible you will need to:

Complete the medication book, located on front counter of the centre's foyer.

Hand the medication to an appropriate staff person who will then store it in the kitchen out of children's reach.

Excursions

You will be notified of any excursions in which your child may participate. You will be required to fill out all relevant forms prior to the excursion.

Moving

It is your responsibility to notify the office of any changes to personal information eg address, phone number, custody orders, etc…

Clothing

Parents are asked to dress their children in suitable clothes to enable uninhibited play. Staff will take care to see that aprons are worn by the children during messy play. However, we cannot guarantee clothes will remain unsoiled at all times.

Injury and Illness.

In case of minor accidents, suitable first aid will be administered by the staff. In the event of serious injury or illness parents will be contacted immediately and the appropriate medical assistance sought.

Parents are requested to keep their children at home in times of sickness. The Director reserves the right to refuse admittance to any child showing signs of contagious illness.

Readmittance to the centre will be at the discretion of the Director.

If your child becomes ill at the centre you may be contacted to take your child home. If you have inflexible work or personal commitments which make it difficult to collect your child, ensure that you have a reliable emergency preson to look after your child should the need arise.

Concerns or Queries
A detailed copy of all Centre Policies are available for your perusal at reception.

If you have any concerns regrading your child, feel free to speak to the Group Leader in your child's room.

Alternative Arrangements

No child will be allowed to leave the centre with a person other than the parent, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Director or your child's teachers.

Please Don't Be Late

Unfortunatly we DO NOT have the facilities to operate outside the set hours. We understand that in some instances children may be collected outside normal operating hours due to extenuating circumstances. 'Late Fee' Charges will apply.

Rest Time

Regulations require us to provide a rest time as part of our program. Rest is necessary after a busy morning of activities because from rest the mind is refreshed, the body muscles are relaxed and tension is less likely to occur. Rest time enables children's energy to be restored and mental alertness to be rejuvenated.

Behaviour Management

Discipline is to teach not to punish.
TECHNIQUES:
Positive Reinforcement
Positive role modelling
